Clients
I work with humans so they can discover the heart of what is next for them. I help people create a “next chapter” they can be fully alive in.
To do that, I endeavor to create a safe space where you and your whole story – fears, failures, foibles along with super powers and successes – can have room to relax and spread out. Together, we will coach you towards a next chapter you can be excited about. We’ll mine the gold of your values, aspirations, personality, skills and wisdom for you to create something amazing.
I needed to make a career change yet I felt paralyzed. I had been successful in the non-profit sector for nearly fifteen years and knew it was time for a change. I knew I needed outside help but was hesitant because of the cost, time commitment and my lack of understanding of the value of working with a coach. Then I started working with Susan. As a woman nearing 60 years old, facing the job market was especially daunting and I was so grateful to have Susan as a sounding board and coach. She gently pushed me out of my comfort zone, and after nine months of working with Susan I landed my dream job in the private sector at the salary I deserved. I continue to use the skills that I learned from Susan to speak up in meetings with my boss, negotiate raises and bonuses and advocate for myself and my teams.

I particularly love working with mid- to late-career humans who are bumping up against the limits of their current roles, threadbare aspirations and mucky ambivalence, and the reality that time is finite. You have experience, wisdom, resilience and character waiting to be leveraged forward so that nothing is wasted, and often at a time when the external world has moved along to whatever is new and shiny.
Sometimes, the work clients do with me ends up being more exploratory and expansive than tactical, and lays the groundwork (now) for clarity and changes to be made in time (later). You are always in the driver’s seat about what is right for you.
All that said, ‘next chapter’ opportunities occur throughout adult life, and I have worked with people of all ages, situations and life stages on transitions and change. If you’re curious, let’s talk (link to contact form) and see if I’m the right resource for you at this time.

Consciously
As a small business owner and solo-preneur in the coaching and consulting field, my success and my work depend on trust, transparency and authenticity. I want my work and business practices to fully reflect my values. I believe that all humans deserve an abundant, healthy and safe life, full stop. I welcome and support BIPOC, LGBQT, and the differently abled with my services.
While I personally take time to read, listen, unlearn my own role in white supremacy and privilege, and to actively be an anti-racist, I want my business to do the work, too, in supporting racial equity. Therefore, my business is
- Donating 5% or more of my (gross) earnings to organizations that support health, wellness and social justice for BIPOC.
- Offering “pay what you can” spots for my offerings.
- Signed on to the Anti-racist Small Business Pledge put forward by Rachel Rodgers (@rachrodgersesq) and HelloSeven.co, and committed to building an equitable, anti-racist organization.
